Payment Processing and Payouts

Understanding how payments work on Beet, including processing, fees, and receiving your payouts.

Beet provides secure, reliable payment processing for your paid events. This guide covers everything you need to know about handling payments.

How Payment Processing Works

When an attendee purchases a ticket:

  1. They enter payment information at checkout
  2. Payment is securely processed through our payment partner
  3. Attendee receives instant confirmation and receipt
  4. Funds are held securely until after your event
  5. You receive payout according to schedule

All transactions are encrypted and PCI-DSS compliant for maximum security.

Currency Support

Beet supports payments in 135+ currencies worldwide:

  • USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD
  • And many more regional currencies

When you create an event, select your preferred currency. Attendees will be charged in that currency, and you'll receive payouts in the same currency.

Multi-Currency Events

For international events:

  • Set your base currency
  • Attendees see prices in their local currency
  • Automatic conversion at checkout
  • You receive payment in your base currency

Platform Fees

Our transparent pricing structure:

Standard Pricing

  • Platform Fee: 2.5% + $0.50 per paid ticket
  • Payment Processing: 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction
  • Total Combined: ~5.4% + $0.80 per ticket

Free Events

  • No Fees: Free events have zero platform fees
  • Pay only when you earn

Volume Discounts

For high-volume event organizers:

  • Contact our sales team
  • Custom pricing available for:
    • Annual event volume over $100K
    • Enterprise organizations
    • Multi-event series

Fee Options

Choose who pays the platform fees:

  • Include fees in your ticket price
  • Attendees see final price upfront

Pass Fees to Attendees

  • Fees added at checkout

Payout Schedule

Receive your event revenue on a predictable schedule:

Standard Schedule

  • Payouts processed 3-5 business days after event ends
  • Automatic transfer to your bank account
  • Email notification when payout is sent
  • Detailed breakdown of all transactions

Express Payouts

Available for established organizers:

  • Receive payouts within 24 hours after event
  • Apply after hosting 5+ successful events
  • Subject to approval

Setting Up Payouts

To receive payouts, complete your payment account setup:

  1. Go to Account Settings → Payouts
  2. Enter your business information:
    • Legal business name
    • Tax ID (EIN or SSN)
    • Business address
    • Business type
  3. Add bank account details:
    • Account holder name
    • Routing number
    • Account number
  4. Verify your identity (if required)

Required Documents

Depending on your location and volume:

  • Government-issued ID
  • Business registration documents
  • Tax forms (W-9 for US organizers)
  • Proof of address

Payout Dashboard

Track all your payouts in one place:

  • Pending: Revenue waiting for payout
  • In Transit: Payouts being processed
  • Completed: Successfully transferred funds
  • Failed: Issues requiring attention

Payout Details

For each payout, view:

  • Gross ticket sales
  • Platform fees deducted
  • Refunds processed
  • Net payout amount
  • Transfer date and status
  • Breakdown by ticket type

Refunds and Chargebacks

Processing Refunds

Issue refunds directly from your dashboard:

  1. Go to Manage Event → Guests
  2. Select attendee to refund
  3. Choose full or partial refund
  4. Refund processes within 5-7 business days

Refunded amounts are deducted from your next payout.

Handling Chargebacks

If an attendee disputes a charge:

  1. We'll notify you immediately
  2. Provide evidence of legitimate purchase
  3. We'll work with payment processor to resolve
  4. You're protected from fraudulent disputes

Best practices to avoid chargebacks:

  • Clear event descriptions
  • Transparent refund policies
  • Excellent customer service
  • Send event reminders

Tax and Reporting

Tax Collection

For US organizers:

  • Sales tax calculated automatically where required
  • Tax rates based on event location
  • Collected at checkout
  • Remitted according to local laws

Financial Reporting

Download comprehensive reports:

  • Transaction history (CSV, PDF)
  • Sales by date range
  • Revenue by ticket type
  • Tax collected summaries
  • Annual reports for tax filing

Access reports from Account Settings → Reports.

Payment Security

Your financial data is protected:

We never store raw credit card numbers on our servers.
